New parents can feel comfort in knowing services are available to make the immediate postpartum period less stressful. A Board Certified Lactation Consultant is available to assist with breastfeeding and answer questions about infant feeding. For more information regarding lacation consultations call 333-5315. After discharge, postpartum lunches are offered every Tuesday from 11:30am – 2:00pm for women who have given birth at The Women’s Center. This luncheon offers support and an opportunity to network with other mothers. Education on a wide variety of topics and lactation support is provided.
Good preparation can help you be a better parent both before and after your baby is born. The Women’s Center offers an extensive educational curriculum to help you prepare for everything from health during pregnancy to child rearing. The Women’s Center provides a safe and convenient surgery program and offers the full capability of performing the latest gynecologic surgical procedures. Same-day surgery is available for many procedures. Highly trained staff use state-of-the-art equipment for laser and laproscopic procedures to treat such conditions as incontinence, endometriosis and uterine fibroids.

Maternal Fetal Medicine
When expecting mothers have concerns about carrying their fetus to term or have other potential risks associated with their pregnancies, they may be referred to a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician. MFM is specialized medical care for mothers facing high-risk pregnancies. At North Florida Regional Medical Center, Dr. Rizwanna Fareeduddin (better known as Dr. Fareed) specializes in MFM. The Diagnostic Center, located on the first floor of The Women’s Center, offers the convenience of bone densities, maternity registration, stereotactic biopsies and mammography services in one location. X-rays, EKGs and labs are done at outpatient Pre-Op services on North Florida Regional’s campus.
Breast Health Program
The Breast Health Program at The Women’s Center provides board certified oncologists, gynecologists, radiologists and surgeons and a variety of services that takes them throughout the spectrum of care, from diagnosis to treatment to reconstruction. The program offers mammography, breast ultrasound, several types of minimally invasive breast biopsies, sentinel node studies, surgical interventions, inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, radiation treatments and reconstruction.
North Florida Regional is ACR Accredited and Certified in Mammography. We offer digital mammograms for shorter exam times, faster results and better comfort.
