A Christian Prayer for Healing
Almighty and most merciful God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of those who suffer: by your Holy Spirit grant me the strength and courage to persevere this day; turn my sickness into health and my sorrow into joy; and give your power of healing to those who minster to me that I may be restored to the health and wholeness you intend; through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen
A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Mishaberach – A Jewish Prayer for Healing
May God who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachael and Leah, bring blessing and healing to _________. May the Holy One mercifully restore health and vigor, granting physical and spiritual well-being together with all others who are ill. May the doctors and nurses, as well as all who are involved in healing be blessed with skill and with compassion in the performance of their duties. We pray, Lord that we continually feel your embrace during these times of distress and difficulty.
And let us say, Amen
Muslim Prayer of Consolidation and Patience
Allah! There is no God but He, the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permits? He knows what (appears to his creatures as) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass anything of His knowledge except as He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth
