North Florida Regional Healthcare is home to The Heart & Vascular Center, a strong and growing cardiovascular program that cares for thousands of patients throughout North Central Florida.
North Florida Regional is home to Gainesville’s only accredited Chest Pain Center. Board-certified physicians, trained nurses and other clinical providers work together as a team at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Ocala Regional Medical Center and Lake City Medical Center to deliver high quality cardiovascular treatment to patients throughout North Central Florida.
During the year 2011, surgeons performed 247 open heart procedures, cardiologists completed 1,287 stent cases during primary coronary interventions, 349 patients received pacemakers, and 203 implantable cardiac defibrillators were implanted for patients. Non-invasive diagnostic services performed more than 60,000 testing procedures for patients.
